Online shopping

I feel as if I should update this more often. Maybe write a little about me?
Today I'd like to talk about my online shopping problems!
I seem to go through phases. Usually I'll browse online fairly regularly, just admiring... window shopping, I guess. But then bam, I start buying stuff! Not good when you're trying to save up for a trip to England (that'll be another post)!

I bought to slightly expensive shirts the other day. It's just so nice being able to afford stuff that used to be out of my price range. Well, I mean, I can sort of afford it. I might regret it when I'm in London, wearing my nice new shirt but not having any money XD
I'll probably be excited all over again when they arrive!

Anyways, next day one of my other favourite sites, modcloth, is having mega sales. Unfortunately, never having ordered from there before, I never realized they ship through ups without pre-paid duties & taxes... so they get to your door and have to ask for more money. Such a hassle! I love ordering from Etsy, where most of the sellers use the good ol' post office... there's one right around the corner from my house, so if I'm not home during the day I can just pop over to pick it up. I once ordered something via purolator, and after missing the delivery man I had to go about 30 minutes into the wilderness to pick it up.

Anyways, other obsessions of mine these days that don't cost me a fortune are How I Met Your Mother and Buffy. I went through the dvds of season four in about three weeks? XD I love how watching it just gives me so many 90s flashbacks. Some shows I sort of remember from when they originally aired and I was like nine or ten (like the musical episode), others are just hilarious with the fashion. Platform shoes! Spaghetti straps! Chokers! I remember them all!
Anyways, Buffy was the subject of my sketch yesterday. I'm working on it again today, and the resemblance is more present now. It's hardly there in yesterday's version!



I'll close with my most recent image. I'm not overly fond of it. I got what I wanted with the face, but the hair was just so horrible and so frustrating that I pretty much just let it be.

Feb 10-today

Omg it's been so long! XD I'm so full of laziness! But I've been drawing! Lots of new stuff to upload.
I think I'm getting closer and closer to missing a day... it's happened like three times in the last week that I've been ready to finally go to sleep and then remember... 'oh shit I didn't even sketch today!'.
That's how active I've been in the art community lately. *sigh*.

Anyways, let's do this shit.

Instead of one sketch I ended up try to see what I could do in a minute. I did three of these 'experiments'. Well, one I spent more than a minute on. Guess which one :XD:

Was having a bad day, but may have gone pretty overboard after I started to enjoy the colour scheme XD

This was sort of a sketch of what I imagined Lisbeth Salander from the Millenium trilogy to look like. I'll probably do a better picture one day. I loved the books! I thought it all wrapped up pretty nicely. So far I've only seen the first movie (the Swedish ones of course... I'm so excited for the English one next December!) but it was really good. Now that I'm done all the books I'll move on to the next two!

Was online shopping and stumbled across this awesome Vivienne Westwood coat. So I had to draw a lady with pink hair to go with it! XD

Saw I Am Number Four that day (yesterday... and yes, fyi I do see a lot of movies XD). It was so good! I'm pretty sure they're making a next one and I'll defs see that too! Alex Pettyfer is just too much <3

Last pic of today! For anyone who wants to know, this is the fifty fourth picture (and therefore the fifty fourth day of the year... how many days till christmas??)
You know when you're listening to music and just keep getting images in your head? This was one of those!

Feb. 3rd-Feb 8th

Unfortunately I don't have today's or yesterday's sketches uploaded yet, but I figured I needed an update.
I'd like to start posting other, more interesting stuff on here instead of just my sketches, but I always forget!

I'm going to hand in my portfolio later today to apply for university. So nervous! Maybe I'll make a little section later showing what I chose to put in it. Twenty pieces is so limiting!

Anyways, let's get on with it, starting with February 3rd.

Yeah okay so it was like 10 minutes to midnight and I had totally forgotten to sketch that day so I did this in less than two minutes XD

This is a character idea I'm sort of messing around with. An old cranky queen with colourful hair XD

I had a second one for that day, too.



Something about his face reminds me of Stewie from Family Guy.

You can always tell when I have no ideas because my sketch will be a woman with her shoulder somehow very prominent XD

This is just the cranky old queen again. I had not really good ideas for an outfit. Maybe I'll try drawing her again today! I'd like to get better at elderly faces.

Update! January 24-Feb 2nd

It's February! The year is going by sooo fast!
The weird thing about keeping this blog is that I number each picture for each day... so right now I know it's the 33rd day of 2011. Not too hard to keep track of, but when we get to, like, the 157th day it might be strange XD
